Kinross residents protest against electricity cuts by the municipality in Ext 21

UPDATE :

KINROSS – Govan Mbeki Municipality speaker, Mr Nhlakanipho Zuma responds to residents concerns.

Residents demanded that the mayor should stop all the projects in the area until all allegations are investigated.

They also gave the mayor, Ms Flora Maboa-Boltman until Monday to respond to the allegations of nepotism regarding community projects.

The mayor received the memorandum.

The R29 road is now open for motorists.

KINROSS – Residents have taken their anger to the streets as they protest against electricity cuts by the municipality in Ext 21.

The protest also involves the hiring of friends and families for community projects.

 

 

Foreign national shops are also closed.

The police are currently trying to calm the situation.

The traffic officials have closed the R29 road and request that motorists use the N17 highway.
