Evander woman shot, suspect still at large

A man broke into a shack on Enkomeni Farm by forcing a window open to gain entry.

The break-in took place on Sunday, 7 January at about 10:30pm.

The suspect went into the victim’s (43) bedroom and demanded money.

They fought and the man bit the woman on her forehead.

The fight carried on into the lounge where the man pulled out a 9mm pistol and shot the woman in the upper arm.

Two shots were fired and two cartridges were found.

The woman is in a stable condition.

The man went into a nearby tuck-shop and stole beer from a fridge.

He fled on foot with R400 from the tuck-shop.

The suspect is not known in the area, although he has been seen before hanging out near the tuck-shop.
