Cocaine with a street value of about R160 000 was discovered recently on a dirt road behind a local primary school.
A woman driving on the road behind Laerskool Goedehoop found the 324g bag of drugs in the road on 30 January.
The plastic package wrapped in a shopping bag seemed to have burst open and some of the white power was spilled on the ground.
The woman thought the white power was poison used by criminals to poison dogs before breaking into a house.
She alerted the cell phone caller app, Zello 911 Assist, and StratconRisk, a private security company.
They responded immediately and inspected and tested the contents of the bag by using the tester they have in their vehicle.
“The white powder tested positive for pure cocaine,” said Mr Gunnie Prinsloo from StratconRisk.
He took the drugs to the Secunda Hawks who in turn sent the bag and contents to the police’s forensic lab for testing and finger printing. Anyone with
information about the cocaine and the planned distribution thereof, can contact the Hawks at 017 634 7002.
