Police showcase their skills to learners at eMzinoni Stadium

Members of the dog unit do a demonstration.

eMZINONI – Learners from various schools watched in awe as members of the specialised units of the SAPS demonstrated their skills on Thursday, 31 June at eMzinoni Stadium.

This was the initiative of Const Cynthia Mtsweni, police spokesman, as part of the Take a Child to Work campaign.

The aim of the initiative was to expose learners at an early age to the policing as a career choice.

The police band entertained the learners and various stakeholders, such as the Govan Mbeki Municipality Fire and Rescue Department, Provincial Traffic Department and the Bethal Correctional Services.

The theme for this year’s event was dream, believe and achieve.

Learners were encouraged to focus on their studies and consider pursuing careers in the SAPS.

They were also warned to stay away from crime and substance abuse.

Const Mtsweni thanked everybody who took part in the event.
