Gun falls during armed robbery in eMbalenhle

eMBALENHLE – An undisclosed amount of cash, airtime and cigarettes were stolen during a business robbery in Extension 18 on Friday, 19 October.

It is alleged that the two shop assistants were occupied within the shop, when an African man stormed in and pointed a firearm at them.

According to the police the shop assistants retaliated and fought off the suspect.

It is alleged that his firearm fell as he fled the scene.

Police were summoned and a firearm without a serial number was recovered.

The suspect remains at large.
