Man dies at 118

Mr Sant Pikinini Malunga-Maseko (118) died of natural causes on 13 April.

eMBALENHLE – Mr Sant Pikinini Malunga-Maseko (118) died in his sleep in his family home in the Mandela Section on 13 April.

He was born in Swaziland on 16 July 1894.

Mr Malunga-Maseko arrived in South Africa in 1910 and lived in Bethal where he worked as a road officer.

He separated from his wives and had 21 children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr Malunga-Maseko was living with his last born son, Mandla (42), at the time of his death.

He said his father always followed a strict diet, consisting mainly of vegetables and as little meat as possible.

“My father was an invaluable source of wisdom to the family.”

Mr Malunga-Maseko was buried on Sunday, 27 April.
