SECUNDA – This year will see the South African Rhyno 7’s compete in the Dallas Harlequins 7’s Tournament in Dallas, Texas.

7’s rugby is growing in popularity in South Africa and especially in America.

The inaugural Dallas 7’s Tournament hosted this year proved a huge success with already a strong following and support base.

It promises to be even bigger this year.

The South African Rhynos are among many of the international teams that will compete, including New Zealand, Argentina, Cayman Islands and North America.

The tournament presents an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the players, giving them an opportunity to interact and play against other international teams.

What is more, scouts from numerous USA rugby programmes and universities will be in attendance.

Five South African players got offered bursaries by leading USA universities in 2015.

With this in mind, the Hydra Arc Group of Companies decided to back the local players as the main sponsor, ensuring they get the chance to take part in this unique opportunity.

Hydra Arc will also be sponsoring two of the players and a coach.

One of the players’ father is a long-time employee of Hydra Arc and was emotionally overwhelmed by the good news, knowing he would not have been able to provide his son with this opportunity without the help of a sponsor.

The event takes place in Dallas from 11 to 20 July and will be streamed live on SuperSport.

Hydra Arc is proud to be associated with the local sportsmen who represent South Africa abroad.

They wish the team the best of luck and said they know they will do their best to make their fellow South Africans proud.
