CCYI hosts Autumn sports games

The Council for Concerned Youth Institute (CCYI) will be hosting the autumn sports games in eMbalenhle.

The games began on Thursday, 6 April with the Caddies Golf Day at Graceland Golf Club.

It was attended by both Graceland and Walker Park caddies.

Mr Mfanayedwa Ntshalintshali, director of CCYI, said some of the caddies will be selected to be the coaches for the development of golf sport for the 5 to 18 year olds.

“We also aim to introduce a program to manage and mentor caddies to behave better at the golf clubs,” Mr Ntshalintshali added.

On Sunday, 9 April there will be a launch of boxing games at Ehlazweni sports ground in Ext 1, eMbalenhle.

Teams from Middelburg, Phola and Bronkhorstspruit will compete.

Monday, 10 April there will be soccer and netball tournaments at Ext 12, sports ground near Taifa Joints, Ext 1 and Chris Hani sports grounds for the u13, 15 and 17.

He further mentioned that this year’s slogan is “Age for Hope”.
