Little Harvard hosts golf day this Saturday

Ms Fikile Simelane (Little Havard teacher) helps Rethabile Moloi complete her puzzle.

Ms Lucia Manthata made it to round two of the Making Moves television show on SABC1.

Each week Making Moves profiles a budding entrepreneur who runs a company that has been in existence for over a year, is between the ages of 18 to 35 and can proof a cash flow into the business, but has some teething problems.

Ms Manthata was one of the entrepreneurs who was nominated to take part in the show and was given several tasks to complete in the second round of the competition.

One was to raise R50 000 for the transport of children at her academy.

To accomplish the task, she decided to host a golf day at Graceland on Saturday, 22 April and urged businesses to take part.

She also runs a R100 donation campaign for individuals and companies.

Little Harvard Day Care Centre was established with the aim of helping working moms and those working shifts as it offers a 24 hour, seven-days-a-week service.

The services also include weekend and holiday care.

Ms Mashaba is a B-Tech in chemistry graduate from Vaal University and a former employee of Sasol.

She said the centre which is situated in Secunda, also has a sub-branch in Bethal that takes children from three months to six years old full time and also offers after care services for primary school learners.

The after-care learners are assisted with homework and projects by qualified teachers who also help them prepare for tests and examinations.

The centre also hosts a reading programme, Drop Everything and Start Reading, every Saturday from 9am to 12pm.

The programme was established after they realised that learners do not fail because they do not know things, but because they do not spend enough time reading and do not understand the questions asked.

Little Harvard Day Care Centre is fully registered, has CCTV cameras, security and offer nutritious food to the children.
