Wika wins SAIMC golf day

The winners receive the SAIMS Golf Day floating trophy from Mr Johan Maritz, SAIMC Secunda branch chairman. In front are Johan Maritz and Harry Geel. At the back are Michael Barnard, Nickey Minnaar and Griff Smith from Wika.

Since its inception 17 years ago, the Society for Automation, Instrumentation, Measurement and Control, SAIMC, Secunda branch’s golf day has become a special event on the SAIMC calendar.

This was proven by the way manufacturers and suppliers had supported this day.

This year’s golf day was held at Walker Park Golf Club in Evander on Thursday, 25 May.

“The field was filled within two weeks of us sending out the invitations.

“The demand among the manufacturers and suppliers to participate in our golf day, was so high that provision had to be made for more teams and waterhole sponsors than in the past,” said Mr Johan Maritz, SAIMC Secunda branch chairman.

SAIMC is a non profitable organisation and funds raised from this event, will be used for local projects.

They visit local learning institutions such as high schools to promote their profession among young learners.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank MJ and her staff at Walker Park Golf Course for a fabulous day.

“The winners of the SAIMC 2017 Golf Challenge was team Wika,” Mr Maritz added.
