31-year-old woman in custody for possession of 1.068kg dagga

A 31-year-old woman, Ms Zethu Sithole, was arrested for possession of 1.068kg dagga with a street value of R2 500.

Members of Visible Policing, Const Vusumuzi Mpila and Const Wellington Mazibuko, were on patrol when they spotted a black Golf with a Swaziland registration number on the N17 highway in Bethal.

Four people were in the car.

Const Mpila ordered the driver to pull over and requested to search the vehicle.

The driver complied and while searching the vehicle, Const Mpila found a red Nike sports bag that contained compressed dagga.

When he asked who the owner of the red bag was, Ms Sithole said it belonged to her and informed the police of the dagga.

She was travelling to Germiston.

The police arrested her for possession of dagga and detained her at the Bethal Police cells.
