Help Evander police find thief

The man disguised himself as someone sent to fix cabinets.

Police are looking for a man who went to a house in Evander in January disguised as someone sent to fix cabinets.

He parked his double cab bakkie outside the gate while the house helper was doing laundry outside.

The man called the helper and as she approached, he asked her if the owner of the house was present.

The woman let him in after he informed her that he was going to fix the cabinets in the house.

It was alleged that the man instructed the helper to remove things from the cabinet and he then took a picture of the pipe underneath the sink and left the house.

The helper phoned the owner to ask whether she had sent someone to fix the cabinets, but the owner said she did not.

The owner of the house rushed home and found that her Acer Laptop and jewellery were stolen.

Police request anyone with information that can lead to the successful arrest of the man, to contact Const Shabangu at 017 632 2322.
