Secunda police warn people about buying online

Secunda police are calling on residents to verify items before they buy them online.

They said locals must be more careful when they sell or buy things on the Internet.

Capt Bettinah Zondo, police spokesman, said residents need to obtain full details of the person they are dealing with and must confirm those details.

“You also need to have full the details of the items you are buying and must see the items physically before you pay over the money.

“It must be an exchange of money and the items.”

Capt Zondo said there is a new trend where buyer deposit money into the seller’s account, however when the seller goes to the bank they are told that the money has been reversed.
